PPD Ltd. supplies both Architectural practices and Architectural Model Makers, some of whom we have worked with for 40 years.
The etching process provides the perfect manufacturing method to produce fine detail on facades, we can resolve surface etch detail down to 0.18mm, allowing modellers to replicate detail as near as possible to 'real life' builds.
Etched facades/designs can be manufactured from brass, stainless steel, nickel silver, copper and phosphor bronze in a range of thicknesses to suit the design, in addition to our etching process we also offer laser cut parts or a combination of both techniques on the same sheet.

Etching Artwork & Architectural Models
The most important part of the etching process is the creation of the artwork, by creating a drawing using our recommended dimensions for each metal type and thickness a successful etch is guaranteed. We recommend that you take a look at our 'Artwork Guide' page for further information on file type/drawing colours etc. You can also take a look at the PDF files below that show an example artwork and our recommendations for drawing dimensions of both parts and tags. A PDF file listing our stock metals and grades can be found on the sidebar of this page.
