Chemical etching is particularly suited to lightweight decorative and functional components requiring fine detail, while laser cutting and our Chemical Etch + Laser process extend the range of materials, thicknesses and profiles we can produce.

Lightweight Under-Lacquer Badges

PPD has developed an in-house manufacturing process for producing extremely thin, lightweight metal badges with an adhesive backing, designed for under-lacquer automotive applications.

The low-profile construction allows fine metallic detail to be incorporated into interior and exterior finishes with minimal added weight, making the process particularly suited to premium and specialist automotive applications.

Badges can be produced for prototype, limited-production and repeat requirements, with designs tailored to suit the individual application.
